Alessia Scortechini, born 11 February 1997, is an Italian Paralympic swimmer who competes internationally. Scortechini, also known as “Scortys”, is a double world champion and a double European bronze medal. She competed in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the S10 women’s 50-metre freestyle category.
Scortechini was born with a shortened forearm and has limited wrist strength. Despite these challenges, he showed remarkable determination and talent, participating in the Paralympic Swimming World Championships in 2017 and 2019 .
In his career, Scortechini won a total of 6 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze between the Paralympics, World Championships and European Championships. It is a shining example of tenacity and sporting spirit, representing Italy with pride in every competition.
